Chilling - island style!
Displaying their wares after a couple of hours of serious shopping. You would think it was a crime to return with money because they have done all they can to be rid of every last franc! Connor was so proud of his snazzy hat until Paul asked him if he'd converted the asking price and he blithely said "of course, Mr B." Paul commented that the amount he paid was a heck of a lot for a hat and judging by the look on Connor's face, he thought it was as well. We think he left a zero off the NZ equivalent! He'll be more careful with calculations in future!
Our next stop was the aquarium. Although some had been with their billet families, it is well worth a second visit. The forms and colours are beautiful and the fish are all easily visible and live in well-replicated environments.
We had one not feeling too good so those who wanted to come for a swim in the pool came with me back to the hotel and the rest went over to Isle du Canard to snorkel with Paul. They saw some amazing sea life, including a large octopus and two fish the same size as Dylan!
We're off to dinner soon and then tidying bags which are an absolute shambles, and then packing to fit everything in!
Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. Au revoir!

Glad to see everyone had a lovely day in sunny Noumea. Thank you Colleen and Paul for all the support you have given April-Rose and everyone else while in Noumea. The kids have obviously enjoyed this once in a lifetime opportunity. Peter and I still can't believe that only about 7 weeks ago you asked if April-Rose could go to Noumea. At the time we were unsure how we were going to get her there but we have. We are sure she she will treasure the experiences made. Thank you for the blog, comments and pictures you have taken. I am sure you have taken heaps of photos during the trip. I hope April-Rose maybe able to carry on being in contact with the Leelee her billet. Who knows... she maybe able to go overseas again. We really appreciate all that you have done for the students of Taupo Intermediate. Wishing you all safe travels tomorrow and hope all the bags are still 23kgs and under!
ReplyDeleteWe thoroughly echo Rhonda's comments about the fabulous opportunity the kids have experienced and again send our thanks to Colleen & Paul for accompanying them. We are so excitedly waiting to hear a blow by blow- minute by minute account of what wonderful things our girl & her friends have experienced . Lets hope we can help the kids from Noumea have an equally amazing trip here to NZ (although the sea snakes & turtles may be hard to beat!) Tui, SO looking forward to hearing about every thing - travel safe Team and look forward to seeing you all tomorrow xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
